Philippe Forest was born in Paris in 1962. After his

thesis at the Sorbonne, he taught in several British universities (St Andrews,

Cambridge, London) and is now Professor at the University of Nantes. He has

written many books on literature and art including a biography of French

communist poet Louis Aragon in 2015 for which he was awarded several

prestigious prizes by the Académie Française and the Académie Goncourt. He is

the author of nine novels all published by the éditions Gallimard and is

considered as one of today’s major French writers.
